Novacan Black Patina for Solder & Lead

Description

Novacan Black Patina gives a deep matt black finish to solder or lead.  Premixed and ready to use. Shake well before using, the sulphate will sometimes condense at the bottom of the bottle.

1. Thoroughly clean project to remove flux residue.
2. Remove any excess oxidation with fine grade (000) steel wool. A properly prepared surface will appear shiny and bright.
3. Apply patina generously with a clean chemical brush until desired finish is obtained.
4. Avoid contacting glass as much as possible, especially iridized glass.
5. Remove excess with a paper towel and thoroughly clean project again or use a flux & patina remover.
6. Once dry, polish to a glossy luster with Carnauba wax, Pledge or similar, if desired.
