Fused Glass Pendant – Stars & Stripes

Description

Size 34mm  x 28mm  on 16″ (406mm) black satin silk cord with silver plated lobster clasp.

A mix of opalescent and dichroic glass. The dichroic glass colours are a result of micro thin layers of metal oxides within the piece which acts as a prism and splits the light into brilliant colours. Most of the light is reflected back directly to your eye, which accounts for the unusual brilliance of the glass and shift in colours depending on the angle it is viewed.

Each piece is handcrafted and may involve multiple layers of glass and numerous firings in the kiln as well as cold working to achieve a unique final form and finish, therefore no two pieces will ever be exactly the same.
